We were planning to night trek but instead started around 3am (still dark..hehe), reached the summit by 5:25am…with lots of huffing and puffing (i swore off my bisyo!!), arrived in Anawangin by 7:30am and took naps on the beach while waiting for our boatman to pick us up and take us to Nagsasa Cove where we camped. Did island hopping the next day, seen Capones stayed there for an hour and went to Camara where the clear waters and the white sand beach had me daydreaming, listening to my favorite music while lounging on the hammock….will go back and make it my weekend de-stressing getaway!
For your trip:
*bring a dry bag for your phone, wallet and camera (expect to get wet on the boat ride to the cove so either you waterproof your bag or use a drybag/ziploc/supot kung di ka choosy)
*buy what you need from San Antonio market, its a bit expensive if you buy it in the cove (specially if you’re travelling on a budget), cost of travel will depend on how many are you in a group… the first time i was there we were 11 so it was not that expensive, when I went back with another set of friends, we were 6 – all our expenses were under 2k
*sunblock…lots of them..higher SPF the better
*for budget concerns, here’s how much I spent: (your expenses would depend on your itinerary, we climbed Mt Pundaquit so that’s added cost)
– bus fare from Caloocan PHP 260.00 (victory liner)
– trike from San Antonio to Pundaquit is PHP 30.00 per head, per way
– guide fee PHP 800.00 (we were 11 and we had 2 guides, and 800 was for both not per guide)
– boat fee PHP 1800.00 per boat (this is including pick-up in Anawangin Cove after our climb and drop-off in Nagsasa Cove on the first day, pick-up in Nagsasa Cove and island hopping (Camara nd Capones Islands) and drop off in Pundaquit on the 2nd day. Our boatman has tent rentals too at PHP 400 per tent. Contact Kuya Randy at 09162732887 (Thanks to Sir Migs of YabagMC for giving me this number)
– we had shelled out PHP 150 each for food, water, ice, soda (alcoholic drinks not included because we bought our own, different preferences haha), we had just shelled out money to leave for Kuya, kasi inasikaso nila kami dun
– we took the bus to Olongapo for PHP 40.00 and took the bus to caloocan on the way back for PHP 207.00
I spent around PHP1500.00 for this trip with 11 other peeps and around PHP1800.00 when I came back with a group of 6.
Anyways, money for this kind of trip is nothing if you get priceless memories 🙂
