Mt. Pulag

Had an opportunity to climb the 3rd highest peak in the Philippines – Mt. Pulag in Bokod, Benguet. We left in Manila around 11pm, took the Victory Liner bus to Baguio and arrived around 5am. Took a jeep ride to the DENR Station in Bokod, passed by Ambuklao Dam and of course, we road topload style.

Arrived at the DENR Station and logged in, attended orientation and rode to the Ranger Station which was the jump off. Took our lunch, did some last-minute preparations before starting the trek up to Camp 2.

trail was muddy
plenty of water sources, though 🙂

Arrived in Camp 2, pitching tents was a bit difficult with the cold temperature – someone mentioned that it reached about 4 degrees while we were there.

Most of us stayed in our tents (me, of course not…had to drink shots of pure gin to stay warm and blacked out..lol), started trekking up the summit around 6:50am the next day…we were debating between going and not going because of the strong winds and colder temperature…did it anyway

had to pass by this before the trek up the summit...loved the foggy view...wind almost threw me off-balance...
still had time to take a picture even when my *ss was freezing

Reached the summit by scaling the 10min assault instead of taking the longer way, but was not able to see any clearing, fog everywhere, rain and wind (made plans to go back to this place when there’s lesser chances of rain shower…contemplated between jump shots…

nah-ah, I'm not doing jump shots

Went back to camp and packed up, trekked back to the Ranger Station where we met up with the others, took a friggin’ cold shower in one of the houses; had lunch tinolang manok sarap 🙂 and went back to the DENR Station to log out, took pictures and bought souvenir shirts and left for Baguio.

Bought tickets going back to Manila before eating dinner at one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten!

Good Taste Cafe & Restaurant
Adobong Hito
Lechon Kawali
Beef Broccoli

Dalawa lang kami ni Ian naghati niyan, madami kaming gutom eh 🙂 Well, nanghingi lang ako sa Adobong Hito, but the rest…oh, well…

Hit the Night Market before going back to the bus station…

I will definitely go back for the “sea of clouds” at the summit, eat at Good Taste again and buy more at the Night Market! 🙂
