Hopefully one of many treks around the vast mountain ranges of Macedon.
We left Sunbury, Victoria while it was drizzling but it was a scenic drive up to Mt. Macedon so we didn’t mind the gloomy weather.

Rojax showed me Sanatorium Lake first. It was called such because of the sanatorium that closed in 1910 and was later destroyed by fire. The cool climate of the Macedon region was thought to provide a perfect environment for patients suffering tuberculosis, thus, the sanatorium was built there.

The trail was pretty easy and literally a ‘walk in the park’ type.

We doubled back to the car park after circling the lake and then we drove up to Camel’s Hump to park again before we start walking through the Macedon Ranges Walking Trail to the Memorial Cross.

It was quite a distance from Camel’s Hump but the scenic trail was worth it.

Although we argued on which turn to take, Rojax managed to find the right one up to the cross.

We sat on the benches at Major Mitchell’s Lookout to enjoy the view before walking back to Camel’s Hump via road where our vehicle was parked.
Along the way we met this guy:

It was a 3.7km walk back to Camel’s Hump, took us a little over an hour.

Rojax wanted to show me where his family lived before Sunbury and then Gisborne where he worked, before studying IT. Drive over was pretty 🙂
Saw that kangaroo sign on one of the not-so busy roads and couldn’t help but…

Eh, there should be ones saying ‘Watch out for fat Pinays’ 😀

And then we had iced coffees and shared a slice of brownie at the Jolly Miller.

Yes, we do love great food 😀

Driving back, the sun helped a lot in giving me good picture angles.

My first impressions of Australia – well, Victoria? Weather change is pretty damn quick, place is very organized and they strictly enforce traffic rules. Most of all, I’m with the love of my life so I’m not complaining ❤
Looks like you are enjoying Victoria. It’s typical of Victoria to have four seasons in one day. Have fun.
I am having fun 🙂 Hopefully, we can trek more since Macedon Ranges is just one of the many places I want to explore
